Oh, Memorial Day three-day weekend, how I love thee~
Here are the essential bits, good and bad:
Friday: ADP showing
The Good: On Friday night, I attended my first ADP showing in nearly a month. Yay me! It was fun to spend Friday night socializing instead of holed up in my room doing homework.
Also, I bought a tiramisu (for game the next day). And yes, that is good news worthy of recounting. XD For the next game session, I've purchased a chocolate gateau. Am I a dork for being reminded of Bakuretsu Hunters? XD;;
The Bad: There wasn't really anyone to socialize with. O_o Several people had different plans that night, so it was mostly
ratzeo running the showing and
zinjadu and me as the peanut gallery.
Saturday: Game
The Good: Um ... the game? XD;; The adventure was just solid, and I think everyone just clicked and worked together. We had a great mix of both stealth and politicking, as well as straight-up combat. My character really got to strut her stuff, and I have an easier time now of figuring out a course of action in a new situtation.
The Bad: Our next adventure isn't for three weeks. Alas. T_T
Sunday: Moving day
The Good:
ratzeo,
rivendellrose and I spent the day helping
shadawyn and
irishninja move into their new apartment - just down the street from the old one, making it one of the shortest moves ever. It was fun getting to hang out with
shadawyn and
irishninja in their native territory (read: Bothell) and see their new place. We took plenty of breaks from working for booze and chatter. Also, I got to reacquaint myself with the cats - Madeline, I think, remembered me (I received the familiar glare XD), but Sebastian seems to have thought that I was introducing myself for the first time. Ah well.
The Bad: The moving. X_x The bigger the living space, the harder it is to move out of it ... I almost long for the days when we were merely moving in/out of dorm rooms.
Monday: X-3
The Good: Kelsey Grammer played a fantastic Beast, and he had the makeup and special effects to back him up. His dialogue, his bearing, and his fighting style were all Hank. I give him so much love because, not only was he great, but in comparison to the rest of the (mostly) lackluster cast, he really stood out. Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart remained solid, at least. Also, Shawn Ashmore as Bobby and Ellen Page as Kitty impressed me unexpectedly - despite having to work against an annoying "teen romance" storyline, they both won me over as younger, inexperienced, yet resourceful versions of Iceman and Shadowcat (thank goodness they decided to skip over her "Sprite" phase). Eric Dane as Multiple Man was so cheesy and over the top that he worked for the five seconds of screen time he had.
The Bad: Umm ... I'll try to keep it brief: Halle Berry (Storm is not supposed to be whiny). Rogue as a Generic Angsty Teen Romance Character. Hugh Jackman's crappy lines (I think he was trying to be a good Logan, but didn't have the material to work with). Pretty Callisto (because we hate ugly people, you know). Yankee Colossus (okay, not bad, just ... odd). Famke Janssen (Jean was always my favorite character ... you should be able to make at least me like her). Flushing the Dark Phoenix storyline down the crapper (as a major storyline that was the sequel of another major storyline, it was not intended to fill half of a movie). And, of course, the Fastball Special (*shudder*).
And now I have to write a paper. Ugh.
