I am really, really sad that Zach lost his memory. I mean, I was surprised how much of a loss it felt to me. It just goes to show how attached I was to him and Claire as a pair, I guess. I hope we find a way to reverse the effects.
Speaking of which ... the Haitian speaks. D00d. O_O I mean, for one thing, he has a very nice voice. For another, I'm really glad he's no longer the mute black man. If I were in an analytical mood, I could say something about the fact that a man of color, a silenced and overlooked subordinate, is now secretly rebelling against the white man dominating him provides commentary about racial hierarchies and the exercise of power ... but I wouldn't do that, would I? ;) (Seriously, though, I doubt that the writers are unaware of this symbolic resonance. "The Haitian" is, after all, the one character who is tied explicitly to his racial identity.)
Our other resident psychic was pretty amusing as Matt and Peter played a game of "how much psychic feedback can we generate?" The 10-second scene of back-and-forth "ow, quit it!" made me giggle. :D
So ... just after we see Peter, er, "flame on," we see him wake up cradled in Nathan's arms for the - what, fourteenth time? Seriously, people, this is getting a little awkward now. O_o I don't need to have BROTHERCEST flashing in neon letters every time the two of them share a scene.
As for the death of Eden ... I think that was handled well. I was afraid that after all the hype, the person to die would be some forgettable supporting character (such as, I'm sorry to say, Simone). Or a fan favorite, just so the writers could be "daring" and "edgy." Eden falls nicely in between - her death will have a decent impact on the story, yet I'm not hugely saddened to see her go. I'm glad she had a heroic moment in the end.
... Is it bad that I laughed when it was suggested that the writers might "pull a Lost" and get rid of the black man? XD;;
Hiro continues to be geeky love. The argument about the "if-then statement," "I really need to find that sword," "What if I step on a bug?" and, of course, "How do you stop an exploding man? o_o" were adorable. ♥
