Yeah, I hope her intention will translate into learning. It sure would be nice to have another big name SFF author get clueful (and, of course, good in the way that any human being understanding more about the oppressions of other human beings is good).

I was thinking more about what I wrote to cypher below, about not particularly caring about Bujold's potential response/epiphany/apology - by which I mean, I'm not following comments with baited breath to see her, "Oh, I get it now!" Besides what I said about the risks of focusing so much attention on her, I think it's also because I feel any response/epiphany/apology will be necessarily incomplete. yeloson has a great post explaining this idea. So I guess what I hope to see as "proof" of Bujold getting a clue is not a statement, but for her to walk away and think and start working against racism (and not just by throwing money at it /snide) and hopefully change things through her writing, her interactions with fellow authors, her interactions with fans. (Which, of course, means that there won't be an endpoint to the process.)

... So apparently I wanted to write more about RaceFail v2.0 than I did in my post, so I've been using comments for it. ;;;;;

Anyway! I am, er, okay despite stupidity abounding. I think, if there will be another Dancing With the Stars viewing tomorrow, I would really like to join and see fun-stupidity abounding!
