Thanks for the advice. That's smart stuff that should work. I've tried to incorporate "start small" into the techniques I'm using, but somehow I still haven't been able to get myself going.
But what you said about figuring out why I want to do the things I want to do ... that's getting my brain processes going. I think I'll take it one step further, and also ask, "why do I want to do what I do instead?" For instance, I want to write because I want to be creatively productive, which makes me feel fulfilled. But if I, say, putter around the house doing non-essential chores instead, there's a reason I want to do that (even if it's not a good one). If I hold up both reasons to the light and look at them clearly, I think it'll be harder for me to choose the poor reason.
As for how to implement this mental system, I may need to revisit the weekly goals ...
