Right! You know, this lowly receptionist actually has a whole helluva lot to do with your fate, because if you mistreat me, then my supervisors (you know, the actual important people) find out. And they care about how you treat all people, regardless of whether or not they're "just the front desk."

*grumblegrumble* I hate being treated like I couldn't possibly know what I'm talking about, even though, hey, I work here. And even if I didn't know the answer, at least I was asking questions about relevant details and explaining what information I lacked - you know, communicating. And this person did not only have clearly bad communication skills, but seemed averse to the concept of communicating in general.
