Here's something shiny I want to read: Steam-Powered: Lesbian Steampunk Stories, which is scheduled to arrive on December 29, 2010. The list of authors is highly relevant to my interests.

Oh yeah! I heard about that this morning from someone else in my DWircle. It looks pretty awesome and, frankly, steampunk + awesome women = ftw.

I mean, I'm assuming the women characters are awesome. If not, I think a lot of people are going to be really angry. But anyway, yeah, I look forward to this book coming out. I hope there's a Kindle edition... >_>

I'm not that interested in steampunk myself, but it looks like a fun book. And the names I recognize in the author list make me very confident that we are actually going to get good female/lesbian characters.

I know that this will come out in both print and ebook format. Does there need to be something specific for a Kindle version?

Aha, good to know the authors know what they're doing. ^_^

I think the eBook format is enough. :D

[Edited to remove weird repetition.]

The company that's putting this collection out -- Torquere -- does most of their business in ebooks, and only puts out print volumes for things they expect to do particularly well. So I would imagine they *must* be making things that are Kindle-compatible, since it's such a big piece of the ebook market!

Ah -- from their front page:
Now when you buy an e-book from Torquere Press, you get all of the electronic files that we offer. You get the PDF, Microsoft LIT, Mobipocket PRC, HTML, and EPUB format files, all in one convenient zipped folder. Now you can read one e-book on all of your devices for one low price!

^_^

Me too, and I'm also pleased to have found a new publisher to follow.
