I enjoyed the Vegas version of Phantom for its spectacle. Also, they actually made me hate Raoul less than in the Broadway version. At the same time, though, they made me sympathize with the Phantom a little less as well, although he remains to me the most sympathetic character in the story. (And yeah, the actor did an amazing job I thought!)

Aside from a couple hours of sheer panic and terror right before the wedding, everything went off without a hitch! Thanks for coming and being a part of our happy memories. ^_^

Yeah, Raoul (and his impressive pecs) was earnest and clearly in love with Christine, but not as arrogant and insufferable like he is in some productions. And the Phantom, while mistreated and misunderstood, was also clearly cruel and selfish and obsessive. It's more interesting to have that, I think, than the tragic hero who is clearly better than Raoul (which is why I'm not interested in seeing the new sequel).

Perhaps I should have said that while nothing went wrong with the wedding, that doesn't free the bride and groom from worrying about what might go wrong? And I was happy and honored to be there. :)

Ah yes, I agree with your assessment about Phantom.

Also, I didn't mean to imply I was disagreeing with you. The ceremony itself went off flawlessly! XD
