....oh man those roasted pears sound glorious -- I've had sort of similar preparations with apples before, but I would love to try it with pears. :d

They were very good! I think I like baked pears better than apples (or, at least, the kind I've had in apple pie) because pears are so mellow tasting that they're great warm. And as you can see, this recipe is easy to customize; I bet other spice combinations would be great, as would pairing them with various types of cream or syrup.
