What I said I'd do.
Sunday
Sleeping in this morning (because the game ran godawful late last night) means that there's less time in the day to get things done - on the other hand, it being Sunday instead of a weekday means that the day job doesn't take up 9 hours of that time. And I like to think I got quality over quantity, anyway. Got a whole bunch of household chores done, many of which involved physical exertion (like mopping the floors or giving Kershach's big-ass litter box a thorough scrubbing), so I got some good physical activity in - health and productivity in one!
Most importantly,
ratzeo and I just spent the day enjoying each other's company. We get our major chores accomplished by picking a day and then working together until everything is done, and oddly enough I really enjoy it - we got to cooperate on a task, and since the chores are mindless we get to enjoy each other's company and conversation while we work (today's topic: last night's D&D session). So I don't have distinct activities to put in my categories, but I think it was a good, productive day all-around.
Monday
BAH! It looks like I'm still fighting off the up-and-down, on-again-off-again sickness that's been plaguing me for weeks. Or maybe it's the sudden cold snap and surprise!snow we had this morning - which, by the way, I didn't see until I actually got outside, at which point I was running late to get to my bus stop, so I couldn't go back in and get a scarf and hat. Or maybe it's the fact that the lentil soup I ate at work tasted like it was on the verge of going bad, but I ate it anyway because that was all I had for lunch. Or maybe it was the fact that it started hailing on my way home, but I couldn't take out my umbrella because I had just walked out of the grocery store with two heavy bags of groceries, so I didn't have a free hand (and still no hat).
I know it was hardly the Worst Day Evar, but it gave me some built-up cranky that I need to get out of my system.
Anyway, whatever the reason, I've been cold, achy, head-fuzzy, and weak all day. I still managed to go to the gym - I do think it helped to move around, even if I had to go a little easy - but I'm still feeling it. I've gotten some good things done (like the gym trip), but I might call it a night early and try to get some extra sleep.
Physical Well-being
-Aforementioned gym trip.
Relaxation
-Read some of my novel, though not my goal of 50 pages.
Productivity
-Over 300 words on the fic. They came pretty easily, even if they're not particularly organized, so I'm happy.
-Tinkered around with some D&D stuff, sorting out technical details about equipment and money.
Tuesday
Physical Well-being
-Er. I seem to forget this one when I don't go to the gym. :P I need to try harder next time.
Relaxation
-50+ pages in the novel.
Productivity
-D&D stuff (more of the same, probably interesting only to me).
Wednesday
I was pretty lacking in my non-physical goals this day ... Looks like this week has been pretty spotty in terms of accomplishments. But I still feel like this system is helpful, and I'm improving. So, I take the lesson and move on.
Physical Well-being
-Gym trip, better than Monday's.
Relaxation
-Novel reading, but a bit under my 50 page goal.
Productivity
-Poking at D&D stuff, but really not enough to consider the goal fulfilled.
Thursday
Physical Well-being
-Stretching.
Relaxation
-Some pages in my novel, some playing with Kershach, some spending time with
ratzeo ... a less coherent way of accomplishing the goal, but it works.
Productivity
-10 pages of theory book.
Friday
Physical Well-being
-Gym, woo.
Relaxation
-Lots of novel reading; I'm getting close to the end and it's going faster.
Productivity
-I finished and posted this fic, which represents almost 1000 words of writing today!
Saturday
Today was spent as an all-day socializing relax-a-thon. At first I felt guilty that I didn't get anything "accomplished" during the day, but then I figured: what I want to achieve with this goal system is to ensure that I spend each day doing what I want to do, so that I don't end up regretting a day (or month or year). And this was a satisfying way to spend my day - very relaxing and a little indulgent. Not something I want to do too often, but good in moderation.
