When I'm nervous I: Make like a turtle. Mostly my "shell" is figurative - I will have a difficult time talking, or talking loudly - but I will also withdraw physically, keeping my hands together or in my lap.

Last night I: Talked D&D with ratzeo, zinjadu, lunapome, music_enforcer, and zeduk (we finished playing an adventure of ratzeo's game that afternoon).

PART 1: YOU
Were you a planned baby? Yup, although originally my parents thought I would be a boy.

Were you the first? Nope, second.

PART 2: YOUR PERSONALITY
Do you have low self esteem? It's a problem I'm continuously working on. I'm definitely better than I was in high school, though.

Are you happy right now? Definitely. I've got a pretty fantastic life, and whatever problems I have are not overwhelming.

PART 3: APPEARANCE
Are you comfortable with the way you look? Overall, yeah. There are some things I'd change, but mostly they're just things I need to learn to appreciate. When it comes to my physical presence, though, I wish I could change that - look more open and friendly, and not freeze up when I'm nervous (see above).

Describe your hair: Long, straight, and black. I got a fancy haircut a few weeks back, but it's not very noticeable unless I style it.

PART 4: RANDOM
Ever been kicked out of a bar? Nope. Have only been to bars a few times, anyway.

PART 5: THE OUTDOORS
Do you prefer indoors or outdoors? I appreciate the outdoors, but I myself do better indoors.

How's the weather? Starting to get sunny and more June-like. We'll see if it sticks. (Gotta love Seattle weather.)

Do you like walking in the rain? In light, drizzly rain (i.e. Seattle rain).

Do you like thunderstorms? I like being indoors during thunderstorms. It makes me feel secure, and I can still enjoy the power and noise.

PART 6: FOOD
Are you a vegetarian? I like meat too much to do it. But I do eat less meat than I used to, and am trying to incorporate more vegetables in my diet.

Anything you absolutely could eat forever? Doubtful. I usually eat the same thing for dinner every day for several days (because I cook a big batch of something at once), but then I have to change. I do eat at Mandarin Chef pretty much every weekend, though, which is more than any other restaurant - does that count?

What is your favorite dessert? Hmmm ... sugary coffee drinks, maybe. Or bubble tea. Or things with caramel. Like the food question, I have to keep changing.

PART 7: RELATIONSHIPS AND LOVE
Do you want to get married? I think so.

Been married before? Nope.

Are you truly in love? Yup.

PART 8: RANDOM QUESTIONS
Where is your cell phone? In my backpack.

Cheesecake? Scantily clad women? Sure, if they're sexy and in control of their bodies and clearly enjoying themselves with the viewer, rather than being there only for the viewer. Otherwise, it just makes me feel queasy. (For what it's worth, I have this qualification when it comes to beefcake as well - it's just rare that I need to make it.)

Your dream last night? Can't remember. The last dream that I vividly remember was the zombie attack.

Your favorite drink? Tea! Usually green or oolong. If we're talking alcoholic beverages, then I like something citrusy with vodka. Or anything mixed by lunapome.

Where did you grow up? Down South, in Arizona and Texas. Hoo-boy, fun times.

Tattoos? I'd like to someday, but I haven't found a design that I think I could live with forever.

Ketchup? On French fries but not really anything else.

Your computer? Works fine.

Your life? Pretty damn good.

What are you thinking about right now? The fact that I have to go back to work in ten minutes. D:

Favorite color(s)? Blue.

When is the last time you laughed? For real (as opposed to small-talk fake laughing, which I often do at the front desk), last night. One memorable instant was when I was making a heartfelt expression of my love to ratzeo, and he responded with: "... Can you think of an artist who's drawn Charles Xavier with hair?"

Last received call? I answer phones for a living.

Part 9: LIFE
What friend knows the most about you? kyonkun, without a doubt. But she might not count because she's family. ratzeo has made a good study of me over the past five years.

Who do you blame for your mood today? I don't have anything to blame someone for.

What should we do with stupid people? Punt them.

What is making you sad right now? Nothing in particular. Any negative emotions I'm feeling right now are generally centered on nervousness. I'm a little sad that ratzeo will be leaving town for several weeks, but that's a temporary sadness.

What was the first thing you did this morning? Hit the snooze alarm several times.

Last person you went out to dinner with? We had a potluck dinner for our NWSA meeting on Friday. Before that, I would assume the last person I went to dinner with was ratzeo.

Do you drink lots of water? Yes, both in the form of plain water and hot leaf juice.

How do you vent your anger/sad? For personal issues, I try to break them down into manageable parts that I can fix or at least tolerate. For wider, the-world-is-fucked oppression issues, I make snarky blog posts.

What theme does your room have? An 'I have lots of stuff' theme?

Are you a mama's child or a daddy's child? I'm closer to my mom.

The last website you visited? The school's website, for work.

Who was the last person you took a picture with? After the graduation ceremony, my office went out to lunch and one of my co-workers took a bunch of pictures that included me and a bunch of others.

Last person you went to the movies with? I don't remember the last movie I went to.

What did you do/will you do for your birthday this year? I have no idea.

Is anything alive in your room? Right now, I'm not in it, so no.

Today, would you rather go back a week or go forward a week? Forward a week, because that means the conference will be done with and I won't be so damn anxious all the time. :P

If you HAD to dye your hair a color what color would it be? Probably dark reddish-brown, since there are small streaks of that in my hair naturally.

If you HAD to get a piercing (not ears) what would you get? Something that doesn't risk dangerous infection like cartilage piercing. Probably belly button.
