There are some dynamics I like between Subaru and Jun (each having high maintenance people to protect, both probably having to do some horrible things for their duties), but just haven't thought of anything in particular. Probably, as you say, because Jun never actually appeared on screen. The only time we hear about him is in a transcript, and then he died. He's just TOO MUCH of an open book to begin to figure out what to do with him.

I imagine Haruka as what would happen if Reika and/or Sae ever went evil. I should write about Hiro and Haruka, or maybe about the ritual, but I'm not feeling that creepy and dark at the moment; more woobie ;)

The parents just hit all of my kinks.

... someday I should get back to writing my novels, though :P And maybe cannibalize some characters...

Haruka as an evil version of the twins would be fun. I mean, Sae has really been shaped by her circumstances; with the context Haruka grew up in, the loyalty to family and intense competitiveness that were advantages to Sae the Guardian could easily make her a wholehearted Hashimoto cultist. And it's pretty clear she had Reika-level ability to get people to do what she wanted.

Warmakers fics can occur during novel-writing, right? :D Like if you want to take a break from the current novel without starting a new one.

I have a hard time holding multiple stories/worlds in my head, which is why my noveling always takes a nose-dive when a game starts eating my brain :D

Reika would definitely have had a hard time trying to exist in the Hashimoto family. As we saw with Haruka, trying revolutionize leads to a bad end, and because of Haruka, we can see that Reika's rebelliousness wasn't just a result of having easy-going Yanagisawa parents. ;) Plus, she would have had Mommy Dearest as competition. I suspect, actually, that Reika would have (tried to) run away if she'd made it long enough. I wonder if the twins would have been so close in that situation, or if they would have been turned on one another?

(Mmmm... AU.)

Or, perhaps, under such a different upbringing, Reika would have turned out a very different person in general.

AU, huh? Now that's a way to make sure this game never stops eating your brain. XD

Hmm ... I do wonder. Sae cares about Reika because she's her sister, but she also likes to feel needed. If Reika had rebelled and come into her own earlier (which I suspect she would have in the repulsive Hashimoto environment), perhaps she and Reika would have been more distant. Or maybe they just would have been close but not codependent. :P

And now I wonder about Sae herself, and whether the evilness of the Hashimoto clan would have subverted her or not (with her low CHA she wouldn't have been good at standing up against them, but her high WIS means she would be strong-willed enough to resist their influence).

... Dammit, look what you've started. ;D

Vile temptress.

Ah, well, that's pretty much how our relationship works in general. ;D

I like how our relationship works.

I would totally snap up the AU-Hashimoto novel.

I'll keep that in mind ;)

So do they unite and take the family down and/or escape, or are they turned on one another in a tragic ending?

Hmm ... I'm probably biased because it's my character, but I think Sae is firmly not-Evil, even if she's Neutral. And if Reika started plotting to rebel or escape, I think Sae's smart enough to see that Reika had the right idea. Maybe she'd take on the role that people on the ninja side of the family usually took, and act as bodyguard/espionage support for Reika.

Of course, that's for the AU Warmakers fic version. For the novel? You can decide what's more interesting. :D
