You'd think Ichiro would want to face down his father without help.

Not that that would be the wise thing to do... so it's good that Gunnar wants to help him ;)

I think he was ready to sacrifice his ego for the sake of survival ... I seem to remember a plan (before we knew about splitting up for the final adventure) wherein Gunnar was hidden in Ichiro's pocket dimension. XD

He did tell Reika that he would want them to "go into the very jaws of Hell" to get him back of he died.

Reika, knowing her final task, but him not knowing it yet (er, mostly because his players wasn't there), failed her diplomacy check and laughed at him.

Also, she has an easier way to do it.

Hey, is conquering Hell and making a stronghold there going to make us the Queens of Hell? (Cos, you know Nariko is supposed to kill the current Lord of Hell.)

We could invite our parents to our Hell Palace for dinner! And have slumber parties with our classmates!

I've never heard or seen Hell typified as a pleasant place in any respect so I don't know how well a slumber party in Hell would go over.

I can just imagine it. "Okay, girls will be in this room, guy in that room. Oh and there will be Pit Fiends patrolling the corridor so guys, don't even THINK of sneaking into the girls' room. Also, at the baths be sure to choose the ones that aren't corrosive and/or poisonous. Dinner will be served at 7 and will feature rotting corpses. Enjoy your stay here."
