Ex-coworker J (who now works in another department in the same building) came by to show me her new haircut, and it's really cute.

It reminds me that I have long toyed with the idea of getting a new haircut.

The problem is, see, I'm horribly lazy when it comes to my hair. I don't like bothering with special shampoo or styling product. The only thing I do before I leave for work is brush it out and, occasionally, put it up with pins or clips. But maintaining a snazzy haircut usually requires spending more than thirty seconds on it in the morning.

So. Dilemma.

Yeah, my life is hard. ;) I'm trying to keep things lighthearted.

I don't know how short you were thinking of going, but the length my hair is at, I barely have to do anything to it at all. XD Occasionally I'll wake up and have a couple strands deciding to stick up at odd angles and I have to beat them into submission, and it can be a nightmare if it's even slightly wet when I go to bed, but it's for the most part really low maintenance. :D

I wouldn't cut it as short as yours, because I bought all that hair jewelry recently and I want to still be able to use it. XD But thanks for the suggestions.

The next time you go in for a trim/cut mention what you're looking for to them. ("air dry, minimal management, no product, blah blah"), and they'll be able to offer educated suggestions to you and show you pictures.

Thanks! I think I'll use your suggestion, as soon as I decide where to go.

(I don't regularly go to hair salons - since I've always had my hair just straight and long, my mom just snips off a few inches whenever I visit. XD)

This method usually works well for me, since I'm also an "air dry, no product" person. A good stylist will know how to cut it so that it falls right without needing much or any help.

Next hair appointment I set up, you should get one too. I know it's a bit pricey ($50 or so) but I like to think I get a "complicated" haircut without having to do too much with it. I think one of the advantages of having a higher quality cut is not HAVING to do as much with it. (My own personal experience, comparing a Supercuts cut to my current stylist. ^^;)

(But you know, this assumes you think my hair is cute despite me not really styling it either. :x)

Urgh. By "not do too much with it" I of course mean styling-wise. In case my language isn't clear. :x

I'm willing to spend that much for a good haircut, especially if I don't have to get styling products to mess with it. And yes I like how your hair looks. :P

That means I'd have to go with you, though, because I think the place you go to is hard to get to by bus. D:

Ahaha well good. :P

Yeah, that's why I asked you if you wanted to get an appointment the same time as me next time I make one. (Or maybe I told you to. XD) But we can work that out no problem.

Another option is to ask T, but I haven't yet because the hair salon she works at is also difficult to bus.

Finally, I use this site (http://www.rasysa.com/pkg/style/) for reference pictures of cuts and styles I like, because at least you can see how it might look on hair more similar to your own. (i.e., Asian texture)
