Goals for the week

This week's set of goals is, like, 90% about Warmakers.

I'm okay with that. 8D

These are subject to change as I decide what my creative projects are going to be, and also which ones I want to do them this week as opposed to next.

Upcoming deadlines
-Wednesday, March 12: NWSA planning mini-meeting
-Friday, March 14: calendar due date
-Sunday, March 16: next Warmakers adventure

Practical stuff
-gym x3

Writing
-[placeholder as I figure out exactly what fics I'm going to write]
-surprise addition of: RP with [insanejournal.com profile] ratzeo (I ♥ my boy)

Drawing
-get calendar sketch to inking stage
-start drawing 4-koma instead of just thinking they'd be a cool idea

NWSA stuff
-at least one article write-up

Monday:
-went to gym
-started RP with [insanejournal.com profile] ratzeo

Tuesday:
-went grocery shopping
-finished and posted RP with [insanejournal.com profile] ratzeo

Wednesday:
-went to gym
-cooked a whole heap o' food for this week and next week
-smidgen of progression on calendar art

Yes, it's helped a bit with editing. I don't like it anymore than I ever have before, but focusing on a smaller target (1000 words instead of 100,000 words) has gotten me to write/edit tighter (sentence structure), limit meandering (actual story/content), and play with other things, like symbolism, imagery, foreshadowing, etc..

It's also helped me distinctly with exploring internal conflict on an equal or even higher level than the external conflict.

I think it's also made it so that I can do at least light scene-by-scene editing on the first draft of my next novel, instead of pushing through the first draft despite obvious, glaring, humongous problems in fear I'll never get to the end if I don't. (However, I also feel comfortable trying this idea, because I know I can finish a first draft.)
