My poor wallet

Barnes & Noble is having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on DVDs.

Should I, or should I not, get the first three seasons of the new Doctor Who?

I loved season 1, and I'm enjoying season 2 so far. As for season 3, I'm probably going to love Martha, but I've also been warned I'll hate what they do with her character. So. :/

On the other hand ... it's not *that* expensive, for three seasons' worth of DVDs that I'll (at least mostly) enjoy ...

If you knew all this already, I apologize.

Maybe IJ is just having an urpy day?

Could be. The influx of new users has increased steadily due to refugees from LJ, but has now skyrocketed liek whoa since GJ went belly-up (or is at least trying really hard to die). By now IJ is generating approx. 14 times the bandwidth on a single day than it previously had in a month.
In short: [insanejournal.com profile] squeaky bought new servers and IJ is doing far better than expected under the crrrrazy circumstances, but I'd cut the site some slack anyway. XD

Oh, and generally speaking:
There's a known issue that sometimes comments don't show up until you reply a second time, afterwards you can see both comments and delete the superfluous one. Also, sometimes comments disappear completely. However, the cause is probably the older code version IJ is running on, because users reported that LJ had the same issues before certain code updates went live. A code update is to come, we just don't know when. Which is, like, the only real downside about IJ so far unless all the new kids on the block now ride in on drama llamas and fuck it up.

... yeah, I like to ramble at random strangers. Ahem.

Nah, I'm not mad or annoyed by this -- honestly, getting angry at journal servers for having the occasional slow/buggy day feels like getting mad at a puppy for having an accident before it's been properly housebroken. It's not like they can help it or do it on purpose. I know nothing about the new kids on IJ, since I mostly have this journal for commenting purposes. XD

It just struck me as hilarious, having a conversation with Dora that neither of us could see. XD

For the record, I didn't think you planned on bringing out the pitchforks and torches *g*. But I have this obsessive impulse to inform people.

.... now I keep imagining IJ as an incontinent puppy. Uh.

It just struck me as hilarious, having a conversation with Dora that neither of us could see.

Yeah. Further down, I posted a reply just to see if it would vanish so I could partake in the madness of mysteriously missing comments. I was disappointed to see it show up as usual.

I don't mind being informed! At least my suspicions are mostly-confirmed, this way. *g*

... I tend to make a lot of puppy metaphors. I suspect I'm compensating because I want to get a dog and can't at this point in time. XD On the other hand, if it works, it works, and who am I to argue that? XD

The thing is, mysterious comments, like a ninja, only appear when you least expect it! That is part of their mystery, I think.

Ha. Now two comments are gone. I AM PART OF IT.
