... Because now that the conference has passed, the deadline that has been breathing down my neckstructuring my life is gone. And there are other things that need to get done, but which I've been putting off because of NWSA. I need to write them down, so I neither forget them and slide into laziness, nor let them build into an exaggerated specter of obligations that make me stress out.
Goal: Get a new job DONE!
Time frame: The first due date is next week. After that, though, it's out of my control.
Steps:
[x] submit resume for 'promotion'
Goal: Character creation DONE!
Time frame: this week
Steps:
[x] review info from GM
[x] write backstory
Goal: Schedule health checkups
Time frame: by the end of July (tentatively)
Steps:
[ ] make dentist appointment
[ ] make optometrist appointment
[ ] make doctor appointment
Goal: Find an apartment DONE!
Time frame: by mid-August or so
Steps:
[x] check craigslist and Rent.com (other suggestions welcome)
[x] inquire about availability/viewing times
[x] make some visits
[ ] prep for moving?? make lists?? start packing??
Goal: Donation DONE!
Time frame: before I move
Steps:
[x] find places to donate (Lifelong AIDS Alliance for clothes and Friends of the Seattle Public Library for books)
[x] donate clothes
[x] donate books
[x] also make monthly(?) money donation schedule - trying for an annual goal, leaving the exact activity each month up in the air
Goal: Reading
Time frame: until/if I find something that works better
Steps:
finish one non-fiction book every two weeks(~ish)
-Colonize This!, Daisy Hernandez and Bushra Rehman (eds.)
-The Fire Next Time, James Baldwin
keep reading crunchy fiction to relax; make schedule if it feels necessary
-Hammered, Elizabeth Bear
-Y: The Last Man, Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra
-Passage, Connie Willis
-[lots of individual graphic novels]
Goal: Fun things I shouldn't let fall by the wayside
Time frame: as regularly as I do "necessary" things
