It's particularly timely that I found this article from a journal at Tufts called "A Dissenting Feminist." It's a critique of The Vagina Monologues, which, incidentally, [insanejournal.com profile] ratzeo and I just went to see on campus last night. Also, the writer of the article is a fan of Christina Hoff Sommers (who is going to speak at the school on the same subject). Having just given the textual finger to Phyllis Schlafly, now I get to give one to Sommers and her ilk. This must be some kind of feminist rite of passage. XD

So let's see what this writer has to say ... )

The play itself, by the way, was fabulous.

March 8 is Blog Against Sexism Day.

From the website:

While those that write about sexism on a regular basis are gladly asked to join in, we encourage those that never or rarely talk about this important topic to join in. There are no guidelines. All that is asked is that you write at least a little something against sexism.

Since I know that you guys hear from me all the time about sexism, and since I'd love to hear from you guys instead. I'm probably going to do it anyway, but still - don't let me monopolize it!
