I just talked to my boss, to confirm the date that the regular receptionist is returning, and she told me that I've done a wonderful job and can use her as a reference. Eee! <--OMGpraisewhore ^^;; I'm just glad because I wanted to ask if I could list her as a reference on my resume, but I didn't want to be too pushy about it. <--also confrontation-avoidant
So! The regular receptionist is coming back the day after Labor Day (one week from Tuesday). Buuuut, my boss said, I could stay on for that first day that she's back, so I can hand off the reins to her. "NNGH&$*!%T^)P" says my brain. "Uh, I don't really think I changed anything she needs to know about ..." I floundered. And it's true; she worked with me during my first week so she could show me the ropes, but this will all be familiar territory to her when she comes back. (Besides, if I struggle finding things to do sometimes, how would two of us fare? o_o) So my boss was all "Ha ha you want to enjoy your vacation before class starts don't you?" and I was all "Ha ha yeah that's it" and that was that. I'm leaving my phone number in case the regular receptionist has any questions for me upon her return, and that should take care of it.
It's just ... yeah. I really really don't want to be working that Tuesday. And it's not because I don't like my job. XD
Really, everyone in the office has been splendidly nice to me, and I'll be sad to leave. I wonder if I should, I don't know, give them something when I go. The practice thus far seems to be to bring baked goods for all celebrations and farewells, so perhaps I'll do that? If in doubt, I could always just pick up a box of Krispy Kremes before I come into work. :D
Happy Friday, all~~ I've got
coramegan's shindig to look forward to tonight, and then
shadawyn's birthday dinner tomorrow. :D :D :D
