Hm.

Whenever I get free time at work (which is occurring with increasing frequency) I debate between using that time to check my email or LJ, or asking people if they need help with anything. Of course, I don't want them to be paying me for nothing (well, besides listening for the phone to ring); on the other hand, I've already put out my offer to do odd jobs, by talking to people and through email, so I don't want to bug my coworkers too much. Finally, I decided that I should go ahead and ask. I might be annoying, but then I could be a better worker, right?

I told my boss I was done with everything and asked if there was anything I could help with. She laughed at me and said, "What am I going to do with you?" o.o

(She did rustle up a project for me, by the way. But I guess this means she isn't disappointed with my lack of productivity. Maybe all that's expected of a receptionist *is* to listen for the phone to ring. But ... does that mean I *should* go to LJ when I'm done with my work??)

Also, I left my wallet at home this morning, and it contains both my bus pass *and* my money. Why? I don't know; I must have just taken it out of my backpack and forgotten to put it back. Luckily, the driver of my first bus knows me (there's only about a dozen of us riding that bus) and let me on, while a guy who rides my second bus lent me a bus ticket, which got me to work; I'll see if I can borrow bus fare from one of my coworkers to get home. But doing things like this makes me wonder, sometimes, why I'm ever allowed to leave the house alone. >_>
