Fretting, and a meme

Am writing first philosophy paper for the quarter. Have not written philosophy papers in almost two years. Augh augh augh.

When speaking of a hypothetical situation in which a nation denies women the right to vote, would it be wrong to give the hypothetical nation the name "Wimmin Suxx0rs"? Y/N.

The player of this game starts with the "6 weird things or habits about yourself." People who get tagged will have to post a blog telling their 6 weird things or habits as well. Make sure to post this rule clearly! At the end of your 6 weird/things/habits, you need to choose 7 people that you would like to be tagged and write their names down.

1. I am obsessive about grades, but in a very Type A way. Of course I would love to get a 4.0 in everything, but I'm more upset by getting a 3.9 than, say, a 3.5. Because with a 3.9 I can tell that I was almost there.

2. I forced myself to start saying "like" when I was in second grade, because all the popular girls did it. (I never said I wasn't a sucker for peer pressure. >_>) You know, like, when you're talking and, like, instead of taking a breath when you pause you, like, stick "like" in instead? I succeeded so well that I still use it all the time when I talk. I have to consciously choose not to, such as when I'm talking to my boss or a professor. I can't quit. T_T

3. When I start a novel, I always read the last line/paragraph first. It's one of the first things I do when I get a book. When I was younger, I would also make sure to read the back cover/side flap, then the author bio, then the publication date, before starting on the actual fiction. I'm a little bit less of a loser nowadays. XD;;

4. I tend not to look people in the eye when I'm talking to them. I'll look directly at their face; but there's something about making eye contact that makes me feel like I'm being improper by trying to challenge them or something. I don't know if this is a result of expectations I've internalized based on being Asian-American, or female, or just my own shyness. Probably all three.

5. In the d20 Modern system, I'm very fond of the Dedicated Hero class (which is totally not the result of my character in the Jedi game starting as a Dedicated Hero XD), a wisdom-based class that's not so much about throwing down in a brawl. In D&D, though, I'm not really drawn to the spellcasting classes, and would much rather play a physical fighter or rogue-type. (I don't know if that's the weird thing, or just the fact that I'm enough of a nerd to think about this. XD;;)

6. Apparently, my "I'm focused and engaged" face makes me look angry or annoyed. This is also true of my "I'm a little sleepy," "I'm waiting for a bus," or "I'm pondering what to eat for lunch" face. Or so [insanejournal.com profile] ratzeo tells me, because sometimes it causes him worry when I randomly look pissed.

I tag whomever wants to do the meme!

750 words in the space of an hour and a half. I hope the rest of the paper goes this quickly. *crosses fingers*
