- Death metal vocalist Olle Ekman warms up his death growl. Kind of cool to get a glimpse of how you have to train the grunt ... and yes, also just silly-looking. XD

- In related news, Roy Khan has left Kamelot. :( I really love that guy's voice, and he also has some fantastic charisma on stage. I was lucky enough to see him live once (though at a venue that would not be worth returning to, regardless of the performer) and it kinda sucks that I won't be able to again.

- Unrelated to any of the above, Jim Hines shared a link to (NSFW) femslash fanart of his princess books. It's Snow and Talia, for people who know who those characters are and understand why it makes me squee. (And if you don't, I'd be happy to lend you my copies of the books!)

Roy Khan is going to be a hard person to replace. I wonder how much of his burnout was related to his health problems that stopped him from being able to do the tour. (Or which caused which?)

I'm curious to see if he joins another band or does a solo career or just retires from music.

Yeah, there are bits on the Wikipedia page about possible reasons, but he and Kamelot are being (understandably) discreet.

I do wish we knew more, if only so we could know whether to expect him him to continue in the music business. As for Kamelot, I think I'd actually like it if they pulled a Nightwish and found someone with a different style. I don't think Khan's voice defined Kamelot the way Tarja's did Nightwish, but personally I think I'd like it better if they found a new person who was strong in their own way rather than trying (failing) to imitate Khan.

I'm definitely willing to give a new Kamelot lead singer a chance, but I will admit that Khan was a very large portion of my enjoyment of Kamelot.

In less depressing news, I Liked that youtube video because it is awesome. A little lolzy but awesome. I suddenly want to look up music that Olle Ekman sings and purchase it, in order to support him making those awesome noises into the future. XD
